WAEDC Executive Director, Logan O’Neill, changed previous Executive Director Greg Myers after retirement in March 2020. Prior to leading the Wapakoneta Area Economic Development Council, O’Neill had been with the Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce since April 2014. He holds a bachelor’s diploma in advertising and enterprise administration from Bluffton University. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management, the 4-year nonprofit professional growth program for affiliation and chamber professionals. “There’s plenty of development happening within the Wapakoneta space,” O’Neill mentioned.
Although the dimensions of the elderly inhabitants will dramatically broaden, seniors will decrease from 2025 to 2040 by 11%, or 2,073 individuals. An increase of 35%, or 2,182, over the 2025 inhabitants of elderly (80-and-over) persons is projected. The wants of the aged can differ significantly from seniors, raising issues associated to long-term care, transportation within the Northwest Corner, entry to healthcare, and food security, amongst others.
