Arthur Gore

I have had 33 years as a civil servant with the Employment Department. I progressed from initially an administration officer to several senior management positions and for the last six years until taking early retirement in 1996 held a directors position with the Government Office for the North West. The main focus of my civil service career was government funded employment and training programmes both from a managerial and inspection perspective.

Following early retirement from the civil service I was general manager of the West Lancashire Branch of Crossroads Care. I had particular responsibility for fundraising, personnel, staff management and training and secretary to the Management Committee.

From a fundraising perspective over a period of 20 years I have raised £1.5 million for a range of voluntary and community organisations, including Crossroads Care.

I have a wide range of community interests in addition to my involvement as a director with Crossroads Care North West. These include President of Skelmersdale Brass Band, Chairman of Bickerstaffe Mission Management Team and Ormskirk Civic Hall Management Committee Member.
